Three Secretary equivalent-level posts stand upgraded, an Additional Secretary post in PMO too remains upgraded

New Delhi (17.04.2025): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Thursday extended the tenure of four key positions upgraded from Additional Secretary to Secretary equivalent level. All three senior IAS officers are serving in the rank & pay of Secretary, Government of India. Accordingly;
  1. Director General, National Archives of India presently held by Arun Singhal (IAS: 1987: UP) under the Ministry of Culture for a term up to 30.04.2025.  It may be underlined that Arun Singhal has been serving as DG  in the rank & pay of Secretary to the Govt of India.
  2. Member Secretary, National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) presently held by Archana Agrawal (IAS: 1990: UP) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for a term up to 01.05.2026. It may be underlined that Archana Agrawal has been serving as Secretary, NCRPB in the rank & pay of Secretary to the Govt of India. 
  3. Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) presently held by Pramod Kumar Tiwari (IAS: 1991: AM), Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution for a term upto 31.10.2025. He is serving in the rank & pay of Secretary, Govt of India. 
Further, the tenure of a Joint Secretary level post in the Prime Minister's Office upgraded to Additional Secretary level was also extended for a term up to 24.03.2026. Currently, Arvind Shrivastava (IAS: 1994: KN) holds the upgraded post of Additional Secretary in PMO.
