Indianmandarins has learnt that Yogi will pick his PS from among those nine senior IAS officers shortlisted for repatriation to their home cadre UP. It may be noted that somehow Yogi could not appoint Awanish Awasthi (IAS:1987:UP), his first & foremost choice, as his Principal Secretary; though he was first IAS officer to be relieved from Govt of India to join Yogi administration.
The next changes in senior level bureaucracy will be effected after senior JS rank officials will be relieved from Govt of India to join Yogi Administration. Among those nine IAS officers, three have better prospects to be picked up by Yogi as his PS. They are Alok Kumar (IAS:1988), DC Handlooms (MSME); Shashi Prakash Goyal (IAS:1989), Jt Secretary, HRD, and Sanjay Bhoosreddy (IAS:1989), CVO, MMTC. Out of these three, Alok Kumar apparently has brighter prospects to be picked as Yogi's right-man.
Yogi has so far been able to effect three big tranches of bureaucratic reshuffle but is still waiting for a suitable time to go for another reshuffle in senior level bureaucracy. As of now, less than a half a dozen officers have been reshuffled in senior ranks and most of the Principal Secretary rank posts are still being occupied by officers who served under the previous Akhilesh Yadav Govt.
