The outgoing first Chief Secretary to the Govt of Telangana Rajiv Sharma (IAS:1982:TL) has been given three months extension in service beyond May 31, 2016. Though the state govt had proposed for 06 months extension the centre gave its concurrence for a three months period only.
Sharma became third Chief Secretary to get extension in last three months. UP Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan (IAS:1978:UP) was given a three months extension on 23 March whereas Rajasthan Chief Secretary C S Rajan (IAS:1978:RJ) got second extension on 27 March beyond March 30.
Sharma was appointed first Chief Secretary of Telangana on June 01, 2014. After this extension he has a full two years long tenure as CS ending 31 August 2016.
