New Delhi (17.11.2022): Some high profile officers of the Jairam Thakur government are marching towards Delhi. The state government has given its go ahead to Principal Secretary to CM Subhashish Panda (IAS: 1997: HP) and another Principal Secretary Rajnish Sharma (IAS: 1997: HP) for Central deputation. Now, they are awaiting orders from the Centre for new postings who have recently been empaneled as Additional Secretaries. HP CS has given his NoC to them. Some more are likely to move to Delhi.
Panda came back from Central deputation in 2021 while Sharma came back around two-and-half-years ago. There is a shortage of IAS officers in the state as only 117 officers are working against the total sanctioned strength of 153. There are 13 HP cadre officers on deputation.  However, deputation of three officers – Sandeep Kadam (IAS: 2008: HP), Abhishek Jain (IAS: 2002: HP) and Nandita Gupta (IAS: 2001: HP) -- are getting over by the end of this year.
