Indianmandarins has learnt that while the government has more or less firmed up its mind on the appointments of Director Generals of CISF and NSG, uncertainty continues over the appointment of Ranjit Kumar Pachnanda (IPS:1983:WB) who is relatively senior to his other batchmates. CISF DG Surinder Singh (IPS:1981:WB) and NSG chief R C Tayal are set to superannuate on Wednesday paving the way for the infusion of 1983 batch IPS officers.
According to the current status, Om Prakash Singh (IPS:1983:UP) and Sudhir Pratap Singh (IPS:1983:RJ) are believed to have been picked up for the top jobs in CISF and NSG.
Reportedly, the much-awaited merger of the two CPOs - NDRF and Homeguards, Civil Defence & Fire Services (Indianmandarins had reported on 07 June 2016, web links below) may also take place simultaneously. Pachnanda's name is said to have been considered for appointment as head of the unified body, but he is said to be unwilling to accept the job. This may perhaps trigger rethinking.
Currently, OP Singh is heading NDRF in the rank of ADG whereas S P Singh and Pachnanda are serving in CRPF and CISF also in the same rank of ADG.
