New Delhi (20.03.2023): The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) is likely to conduct an interview for the post of LIC Chairman this month. If sources are to be believed, the Chairman would be selected from the four Managing Directors of the LIC. 
Currently, Siddharth Mohanty is working as the officiating Chairman after M R Kumar retired on March 13, 2023. The tenure of Mohanty will end in June if he is not selected/appointed as the regular Chairman of LIC. 
The interesting aspect of this process is that out of these four MDs, BC Patnaik is retiring on March 31, 2023 who has already been replaced by Tablesh Pandey. Other contenders included – Mini Ipe and M Jagannath. Once the name of LIC Chairman is recommended by the FSIB, it can be sent to ACC for necessary approval.
