Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the selection committee, headed by CVC K V Chowdary, met on Wednesday, January 17, to select officers to the post of Joint Director in the CBI. A few SP rank appointments are also said to have been the agenda. I may be mentioned that on 21 October 2017, the selection of four Jt Directors was postponed after the CBI Chief, who was a Special invitee, sprang a surprise by asking for some more time to make recommendations for Joint Director posts. It is learnt as of now, seven JD posts have virtually fallen vacant though as a stop-gap arrangement, the government on January 13, 2018, extended the tenure of three Jt Directors for a period of six months.
