SC Collegium transfers seven HC judges

New Delhi (25.11.2022): The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of seven High Court judges. The name of Justice Nikhil S Kariel of the Gujarat High Court is not in the list. At an earlier meeting on November 17, the Collegium had proposed the transfer of Justice Kariel to Patna High Court though no formal statement was released by the Collegium. The seven judges who have been recommended for transfer at the Collegium meeting included:
  • Justice VM Velumani has been transferred from Madras High Court to Calcutta High Court.
  • Justice Battu Devanand has been transferred from Andhra Pradesh High Court to Madras High Court.
  • Justice D Ramesh has been transferred from Andhra Pradesh to Allahabad High Court.
  • Justice Lalitha Kanneganti has been transferred from Telangana High Court to Karnataka High Court.
  • Justice D Nagarjun has been transferred from Telangana High Court to Madras High Court.
  • Justice T Raja has been transferred from Madras High Court to Rajasthan High Court.
  • Justice A Abhishek Reddy has been transferred from Telangana High Court to Patna High Court.
