Prof. Bimal Prasad, India's former Ambassador to Nepal and father of Sanjay Prasad (IAS:1986:GJ), Principal Secretary in Gujarat government's Department of Labour and Employment, passed away on Wednesday at New Delhi at the age of 92. Professor Prasad taught at JNU's South Asian Studies Centre and was Dean of School of International Studies. He also taught at Patna University. A Gandhian to the core, he also held the posts of Chairman of Institute of Gandhian Studies (Varanasi), Director of Gandhi Smriti and Memorial, Honorary Fellow of Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) and Honorary Director of Rajendra Prasad Academy, New Delhi. He authored several books on Gandhi and JP.
