Shillong (08.09.2025): Additional Chief Secretary Shakil P Ahammed (IAS: 1995: AM) is likely to succeed D P Wahlang (IAS: 1993: AM) as the next Chief Secretary of Meghalaya after the incumbent retired on September 30, 2025.A notification has been issued by the state government that on attaining the age of superannuation, Chief Secretary Wahlang would retire from government service with effect from September 30. Wahlang took over as the CS of Meghalaya on August 1, 2022, succeeding Rebecca V Suchiang.
