The latest grapevine suggest that Rupak Kumar Dutta (IPS:1981:KN) may pre-maturely repatriate to Karnataka. Dutta is currently posted with CBI in the rank of Special Director.
The incumbent DGP of Karnataka Lalrokhuma Pachuau (IPS:1977:KN) is scheduled to retire on February 28 which has set the deadline for the State Government to name new DGP. Pachau had taken over from A R Infant as Karnataka DGP on June 01, 2012.
In addition to Rupak Kr Dutta names of Sushant Mohapatra (IPS:1979:KN) and Om Prakash (IPS:1981:KN) have also been doing rounds for the coveted post.
