Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the resignation of Atul Saraya (MD & CEO of NTPC-BHEL) submitted on May 03 has not been accepted by the Government. Instead, Saraya has been placed under suspension. Saraya took up the responsibility as MD & CEO, NBPPL after he retired as Director (Power) BHEL.
Dept of Heavy Industries, the administrative department of the CPSE, had recommended the removal of Saraya in March this year for wilfully disobeying the orders of Department of Heavy Industries and living in Delhi instead of functioning from the headquarters at Mannavaram, drawing illegal TA/ DA and HRA and few other irregularities.
Following the department's recommendation and further actions Saraya submitted his resignation on May 03, 2016 on family grounds. The latest development suggests that Ministry of Heavy Industries did not accept his resignation and instead chose to place him under suspension.
