Hyderabad (13.07.2023): The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has directed the Telangana government to pay provisional pension to Vinoy Kumar Singh (Retd IPS: 1987: TG) and gave one week's time to resolve the matter. 
Hearing a contempt petition filed by Singh, CAT asked Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari (IAS: 1989: TG) to appear before it if the government fails to ensure payment of pension to V K Singh within a week. 
CAT said it had passed orders twice directing the Centre, represented by the ministry of home affairs (MHA), and Telangana government, represented by the Chief Secretary, to grant pension to Singh. But, the directions have not been complied with by the respondents. This action clearly amounts to contempt of court and the same has been taken cognizance of. Singh sought VRS in June 2020.
