The name of Rekha Gupta was announced by the BJP around 11 days after results of Delhi Assembly elections were declared. What are the points that have gone in her favour to be chosen for the coveted job:
Being a woman is the first criterion that has gone in her favour
She is a committed AVBP/RSS/BJP worker
Experience of working in the city as councillor will be an advantage
She will have advantage of being woman to deal with political party like AAP
Her appointment will serve twin purpose of being woman and person from committed Vaishya community
This combination will help the party across the country
It will help BJP to win back some of its Vaishya voters that it lost to AAP for Kejriwal being from the same community
It will help the BJP in other state elections across the country for a woman at the helm in Delhi
Rekha Gupta has the support of the top leadership of the BJP and the RSS
At 50, she is quite young leader as the Delhi CM to send across message among youth
Rekha Gupta takes oath of Delhi CM; Vijender Gupta to be Speaker
