Chief secretary of Madhya Pradesh Sudhi Ranjan Mohanty (IAS:1982:MP) is retiring on March 31, 2020 and with his retirement M Gopal Reddy (IAS: 1985:MP) is most likely to be the next Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh. Reportedly, Reddy is the foremost choice for the coveted post. Presently, he is Reddy is working as Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources and Narmada Valley Development in Madhya Pradesh. A few other names are also doing round. Mohanty will retire on March 31, but the order of appointment of the new chief secretary might be issued anytime in March. Mohanty has already applied for the post of chairman of the Electricity Regulatory Commission.
