New Delhi (18.03.2021): PM Narendra Modi isn't known for expunging his favorite officers. Rather he keeps them engaged in some aspirational assignments. The retention of Nripendra Mishra and AK Sharma, among a number of others, proves this point beyond doubt. Therefore, it may be safer to assume that ex-PMO Principal Adviser and former Union Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha (Retd IAS:1977:UP) hasn't been shown the door. Many senior officials believe that it was Sinha's own decision to hang his boots. So, it is argued that he may not take up any new assignment from the government. Since his further unwillingness to remain part of the government has become well known, the government may not like to be seen as desperate to rope him in one way or the other. So the question of why he resigned still begs an answer. Whether health was an issue or not may appear questionable but it could also be a case of over-simplification and far from reality. It is also said he was feeling a bit uncomfortable in the scheme of things, though he is the kind of man who makes everyone feel comfortable in his presence. Maybe he was feeling uncomfortable because his pace of work or style of functioning or both didn't harmonize with the much-publicized norms in the PMO. Contrary to this there are several others who believe that Sinha should not be given the benefit of the doubts for his work approach, to a little extent, included non-decisiveness, and political inappropriateness which would have resulted in the astonishing development.
