There are mounting concerns over the manner in which the rationalization of the cadre structure of top-level posts in Group-A central services is being handled by the Task Force recently constituted by the DoPT. A delegation from the Confederation of Civil Service Associations (COCSA) recently met Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS, PMO, and requested for his intervention regarding the structure and manner of functioning of the Task Force. The delegation was represented by Jayant Misra, Convener of the Confederation and General Secretary, IRS Association, Ajay Shankar Singh, President ICAS Association, Sandeep Sarkar, General Secretary, IDAS Association, Bhanu Pratap Yadav, Vice President, IAAS Association and Shrawan Kumar Bansal, General Secretary, IRS (C&CE) Association. The COCSA requested the Minister for making the Task Force more broad-based with the inclusion of officers from the Central Services and to have a Service-neutral Chairperson. The ball is in the court of Dr Jitendra Singh to initiate the steps to address the concerns of the Confederation.
