New Delhi (20.06.2024): In a tough administrative move, the government ordered the termination of services of retired officers/staff who were re-appointed by the previous government. The decision of the Chandrababu Naidu Administration in Andhra Pradesh may be dubbed as the tightening grip over state administration.
The letter issued today by Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad (IAS: 1988: AP) says that all retired senior re-employed officers should submit their resignations with immediate effect. All special chief secretaries/principal secretaries and secretaries to the Government have been asked to furnish the list of all these retired and re-employed officers to GAD (Political) by 24.06.2024.
However, if the services of any retired officers/employees are essential in their department, it requires the issuance of fresh orders from the competent authority as per the relevant Business Rules.
