A search committee headed by Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan will on December 8 interview nine candidates for the post of central bank's deputy governor.The interview is being held to fill the vacancy to be created by the end of Urjit Patels first three-year term on January 11. He is in charge of the monetary policy department and was hired from the Boston Consultancy Group.
RBI has four deputy governors -- two filled from the rank and the other two hired from outside. Out of the last lot, one is a commercial banker and the other is an economist.
