For the first time in the history of Railway Board, the Board will
have total eight members instead
of existing five and all the three new members will have similar
positions.
Once
cleared by the Union Cabinet the three new board members will get new
designations including Member
(Safety), Member (Materials Management) and Member (Signalling & Telecom).
Reportedly the post of Member (Materials Management) will be
encadred for Railway Stores Service (IRSS) cadre whereas Member (S&T) will
become a cadre post of Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE).
