New Delhi (22.09.2024): Senior IPS officers Alok Ranjan and Amit Garg were, on Saturday, appointed as chiefs of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) respectively.Alok Ranjan (IPS: 1991: MP) replaces Vivek Gogia (IPS: 1991: UT) as the new Director of NCRB till his superannuation in June 2026. It may be underlined that Vivek Gogia was prematurely repatriated from NCRB with immediate effect on the request of the Cadre. Further, Amit Garg (IPS: 1993: AP) was regularised/appointed as the Director, SVPNPA for a term upto October 31, 2027. Garg has been working as interim chief of the National Police Academy for years.
