Instead of staying at Raj Bhawan, Home Minister Rajnath Singh chose to stay in the Nehru Guest House in Srinagar during his visit to the Kashmir Valley this time. As this is the place where Jan Sangh's founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee was locked up in the fifties and subsequently died there, the HM's stay there was loaded with a stern message to Kashmiri Islamic supremacists. The BJP has repeatedly argued in Parliament that no one cares for Kashmir as much as it does, having even sacrificed its founder for the cause.
