Rajesh Aggarwal (IAS:1989:MH), Joint Secretary (DFS, Ministry of Finance) has taken over the charge of acting Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), National Insurance Company (NIC). Aggarwal's appointment is the fourth since February 2014 after the erstwhile CMD Chandra Prasad superannuated.
He took the additional charge from P J Joseph, CMD of Agriculture Insurance Corporation.
The UPA government had conducted the interview to select a CMD for the company and shortlisted the candidate too but the NDA government is reportedly, yet to finalize the name.
