New Delhi (10.06.2025): Following the appointment of Utkal Ranjan Sahu (IPS: 1988: RJ) as Chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) the Government of Rajasthan assigned the additional charge of Director General of Police (DGP) to Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda (IPS: 1990: RJ). Currently, Dr Meharda is working as DG, Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB). Previously, healso held the post of IG of Kota and DIG of CRPF.

It may be noted that Govt of Rajasthan has already sent a panel for appointing State DGP and awaits UPSC's approval. The panel includes the names of Rajiv Sharma (IPS: 1990: RJ) and Sanjay Agarwal (IPS: 1992: RJ who are considered ahead in the race for the new DGP of Rajasthan while Anil Paliwal (IPS: 1994: RJ) and Anand Shrivastava (IPS: 1994: RJ) are also on the panel.
