Race hots up for JS (Highways) MoRTH; three candidates in race

The post of Joint Secretary (Highways) in Ministry of Road Transport & Highways fell vacant last month following Rohit Kumar Singh's appointment as Member (Finance), NHAI. To fill the vacancy, Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that three names have been recommended to ACC. They are I C P Keshari (IAS:1988: MP), Santosh Dattatreya Vaidya (IAS:1998: UT) and Ashish Gupta (IPS:1989: UP). Vaidya is currently serving as JS, MNRE; Ashish Gupta is posted as JS, NATGRID whereas I C P Keshari is posted in cadre state (MP).
Currently, Ms. Leena Nandan (IAS:1988: UP) holds the additional charge of JS (Highways) in MoRTH. Even though an officer is picked for the job, chances are dim that they will be given the charge of Highways.
