Power Grid Corporation of India has commissioned transmission projects worth ₹30,300 crore (unaudited) during 2015-16, which is the highest-ever commissioning achieved by the company. In an official statement, the company said it has achieved the planned capital expenditure of ₹22,500 crore (provisional). Also, tenders for transmission projects worth more than ₹50,000 crore were released, which was the highest-ever tenders in a single year by the company. "For the nine month period (April-December, 2015), the company had reported a total income of ₹15,320 crore and posted a profit after tax of ₹4,428 crore," the statement added.
