PM Narendra Modi keeps goading his ministers to break their own records. One such example can be seen in Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu's latest move to form a new cell called "Rail Vikas Shivir Implementation Cell'. The Cell has been constituted to speed up the implementation of suggestions and decisions taken during the 'Shivir' which was held in the third week of November last year.
On 18 November 2016, the PM had addressed the Rail Vikas Shivir at Surajkund through video conferencing wherein he had emphasized that being the technology driven century, innovation was essential, and so the Railways had to be focused on both 'Gati' (speed) and 'Pragati' (progress).
Reportedly, concerned over slow implementation of Shivir's recommendations, the PMO had reportedly asked the Railway Ministry to accelerate the implementation of decisions taken in 'Shivir.' This is said to have prompted Prabhu to form the implementation cell. Previously, such decisions were implemented by the divisions and officers concerned. But this time a separate cell has been formed to implement those ideas & decisions. Officers deputed in the cell will focus solely on implementing the decisions taken at the Shivir.
