If some well-placed sources are to be believed Dr Pingale Vijay Maruti (IAS:2004:TN), Private Secretary to Union Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu, has resigned from IAS.  It may be noted that Pingale was Prabhu’s
first choice for PS job when he took over the reins of Railways in 2014 but J
Jayalalithaa, the then CM of Tamil Nadu, had refused to relieve Maruti, a
Maharashtrian by birth, for central posting. Â In January Pingale was appointed PS to
Railway Minister Prabhu and later on 27 september 2017 he was laterally shifted
to Ministry of Commerce as PS to Prabhu.

It may be noted that Pingale was Prabhu’s first choice for PS job when he took over the reins of Railways in 2014 but J Jayalalithaa, the then CM of Tamil Nadu, had refused to relieve Maruti, a Maharashtrian by birth, for central posting.
