The Public Enterprises Selection Board on Thursday recommended Prashant Kumar Mohapatra (ED, NTPC) for appointment to the post of Director (Technical), NTPC Limited. Altogether ten candidates appeared before PESB for interview namely; Kamlesh Kumar Singh (ED, NTPC), Susanta Kumar Roy (ED, NTPC), Prasant Kumar Mohapatra (ED, NTPC), Dilip Kumar Dubey (ED, NTPC), Debasis Sarkar (GGM, NTPC), Rajeev Kumar Vishnoi (ED, THDC), Vinod Kumar Karn (GM, NHPC), Sanjeev Singh (ED, PGCIL), Rajeev Kumar Chauhan (ED, PGCIL). Subject to requisite clearances and ACC ratification Mohapatra would be appointed as Director (Technical); a post which has been lying vacant. NTPC is India's largest energy conglomerate with roots planted way back in 1975 to accelerate power development in India. NTPC earned Maharatna status in May 2010, one of the only four companies to be awarded this status.
