The board on an average advertises 12 posts every month. In March, it advertised six board level posts which included five posts of Directors posts and one of CMD. Further in April this year, it advertised 12 posts (including five CMD level posts) and in May this year it advertised as many as 17 top posts. The last selection interview held by the PESB was on June 20, 2016 - of Director (Finance) NHPC. It's 07 July, which means that no Board level selection has been made in the last fortnight In fact, the PESB is busy deciding the modalities to comply with its June 10, 2016, notification which has opened the doors for Pvt Sector executives and State PSU executives for Board level positions in Central Public sector Enterprises (CPSEs). Its Chairman recently held a series of meeting with over a dozen CMDs of PSUs to handle the delicate issue. Since the rank of Additional Secretary is one of the basic criteria to apply for CMD of a Schedule-A CPSE, it has to be decided what parameters and benchmark should be fixed for executives from Pvt Sector Companies, e.g. for Schedule-A category CPSE, a Pvt Company should be equated with a certain value of Net Profit, Networth, Net Annual TurnOver, etc. Once the modalities are finalised and duly approved by DPE & ACC, then only the PESB would start advertising the board level posts in PSUs.
