patnaik-is-new-ceo-of-natgrid[caption id="attachment_17887" align="alignnone" width="299"] Raghu Raman, former CEO, NATGRID[/caption] The National Intelligence Grid (under MHA) got its new CEO in A K Patnaik (IPS:1983:GJ), an officer who spent over 28 years in Intelligence Bureau. He will serve as CEO till December 31, 2018. Currently he serves as Additional Director in Intelligence Bureau. Patnaik is son-in-law to the former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. The post of CEO, NATGRID has been lying vacant for the past 25 months. Raghu Raman, the first CEO of NATGRID, had to demit office after the newly elected NDA Govt did not renewal his contract beyond May 31, 2014. The selection interview for post was held on January 15 in which nine candidates had appeared that included some prominent officers like Ashok Prasad (IPS:1979:AP), former DG of BPR&D Navneet Rajan Vasan (Rtd IPS:1980:AP) and Special Director IB Satish Chandra Jha (IPS:1981:BH). Reportedly, a senior officer form TCS also appeared for the interview. The NATGRID got its new CEO after it functioned under the additional charge for over 25 months. The Natgrid -- the MHA's ambitious project -- facilitates robust information sharing by security agencies and law enforcement agencies to combat terror threat at home and abroad.
