Pandey appointed BIMSTEC Secretary General; Prabhat accredited as HC to Lesotho

New Delhi (21.10.2023): For the first time any Indian will be holding the position of the Secretary General of BIMSTEC when Indra Mani Pandey (IFS: 1990) is appointed as the next Secretary General of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC). He is presently serving as the Ambassador/Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Geneva. Prabhat Kumar (IFS:1991), presently High Commissioner of India to the Republic of South Africa, has been concurrently accredited as the next High Commissioner of India to the Kingdom of Lesotho, with residence in Pretoria. They will take up the assignment shortly.
