The Comptroller and Auditor General has found that delays in implementing renovation and modernisation of its power plants has had a financial impact of Rs 1,911.16 crore for NTPC Ltd.
In a report tabled in the Parliament on Friday, the government auditor said that NTPC lost the amount due to reduced tariff recovery, outages, avoidable expenditure, generation loss and excess coal consumption for delay in implementation of its renovation and modernisation policy. The report audited the financial year 2014-15.
