'Indianmandarins' has reliably learnt that Dr Arup Roy Choudhury, the incumbent CMD of NTPC, is set to get extension beyond August 31, 2015. He had taken over as CMD on September 01, 2010 for a period of five years ending August 31. Having approx 16 months left in attaining the retirement age Choudhury is eligible for an extension till December 31, 2016 given the Appointment Committee of Cabinet approves the extension proposal of Ministry of Power.
Reportedly, Ministry of Power has moved the proposal recommending the extension for CMD, NTPC; India's biggest power generating utility.
