Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has started accommodating senior leaders of the party contrary to his view that old guards of the party must be divested from the important responsibilities. Despite his serious reservations, he gave go ahead to the appointment of Capt Amrinder Singh as party chief of Punjab. Now, he is not averse to some other names and leaders like Ahmad Patel are being heard. He is also OK with Tarun Gogai in Assam. Emboldened with the victory of Bihar, Rahul now wants mix of old and fresh faces however earlier he was non-compromising on the issue and wanted to change every senior leader with new faces. Grapevine is abuzz if the new strategy is being made looking into UP, West Bengal and Assam elections.
