Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that two internal
candidates may be appointed as Senior Adviser in NITI Aayog. This has been so
as 13 candidates were shortlisted for selection through interviews that were
held on Wednesday. Â Both Sanjoy Kumar Saha (IRSEE) and Ajit Pai (a private sector
professional) are internal candidates from the Aayog. Â Presently, Saha is adviser at Yojna Bhavan. Thus, he is going
to be moved a rung above to become Senior Adviser. Â In case of Ajit Pai he may get a fresh lease of career on
selection by NITI Aayog. His appointment as OSD is coterminous with NITI Aayog
Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar whose term ends next month, or in June this year. Pai
is reportedly expected to be selected and appointed to look after Aayog’s
Economy vertical. Â Saha while working in NITI Aayog secured cadre clearance from
the Ministry of Railways for further deputation outside the cadre.  As reported earlier nine candidates finally got a chance to
cast their hats in the ring for five posts of Adviser and Senior Adviser,
including two marked for internal candidates.
