Currently he serves as Director General, National Archives. Ajay Kumar (IAS:1985:KL) appointed as Secretary, Department of Defence Production. Currently he serves as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY). Upendra Prasad Singh (IAS:1985:OR) appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. He will replace Amarjit Singh (IAS:1982:GJ) on 30.11.2017. Singh will continue hold additional charge of CEO, National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG). Pradeep Singh Kharola (IAS:1985:KN) appointed as Chairman and Managing Director, Air India. Currently he served in his cadre. Badri Narain Sharma (IAS:1985:RJ) appointed as Chairman, National Anti-Profiteering Authority (NAA) in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India. Currently he serves as Additional Secretary, Department of Revenue. Pritam Singh (IAS:1984:RJ) appointed as Director General, National Archives, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to Government of India Vice Raghvendra Singh (IAS:1983:WB). M. M. Kutty (IAS:1985:UT) appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs Vice Dinesh Sharma (IAS:1983:83). G. C. Murmu (IAS:1985:GJ) appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Revenue on lateral shift basis. Currently he serves as Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services. Apurva Chandra (IAS:1988:MH) appointed as Additional Secretary and Director General Acquisition, Ministry of Defence, on lateral shift basis vice Smita Nagraj, consequent to her appointment as Member, UPSC. Currently Chandra serves as Additional Secretary, Department of Defence Production. The tenure of R K Jain (Retd IAS:1981:HP), Member, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), was extended for a further period of one year up to 30.11.2018. Three IAS officers of the 1985 batch granted Special Secretary rank namely; Ms Surina Rajan (IAS:1985:HY), Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS); Arun Goyal (IAS:1985:UT), Additional Secretary, Department of Revenue; R Subrahmanyam (IAS:1985:TN), Additional Secretary, Ministry of HRD and Pushpa Subramanyam (IAS:1985:TG), Additional Secretary,Ministry of Textiles.
