n-e-development-conclave-attracts-policy-makers-and-various-stakeholdersIn order to give impetus to infrastructure, connectivity, tourism and Skill development & livelihood in North Eastern states, Indian Mandarins (New Media Network), JAMS - Jaguar, and India Core co-organized the 'NORTH EAST DEVELOPMENT CONCLAVE' on May 04, 2018 in New Delhi with the active support of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Government of India) Digital India Mission and other concerned Union Ministries. The CONCLAVE aimed at complementing the Government's well-known and highly-appreciated efforts for the all-round development of the North East. It sought to address itself to issues arising from country's unrelenting focus & emphasis on the emotional integration of, and demographic dividend from, northeastern India. The CONCLAVE' offered a powerful platform for presenting, discussing, and showcasing the strengths of the Northeastern region and the Government's various new schemes for mainstreaming this region. The Conclave was also an attempt to reach out to the various stakeholders and delineate the significant business & investment opportunities in the North Eastern States. The conclave held a wide range of discussions on subjects ranging from the development of the NE states in the context of the augmentation of the region's physical and communication infrastructure to the development of tourism & establishing the region on the travelers map as a must-visit destination, better coordination among the NE states & Centre and, above all, the issues of skill development and employment generation. The Conclave brought together the leading stakeholders including several senior policymakers, civil servants, NE state government officials, sector experts, representatives from the industry, community leaders, opinion makers and members of the media for policy debate to find ways and means of developing the North Eastern States. The Conclave was sponsored and supported by key organizations including Coir Board, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), BSNL, HUDCO, FDDI, Airport Authority of India, Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), APEDA, Indian Oil Corporation. The TV Partner- Doordarshan covered the event live and will also be preparing a capsule of the show. News 18, News Live 24x7 were amongst the prominent media partners. In his opening welcome remarks, Rakesh Ranjan, Editor-in-chief, Indianmandarins.com, welcomed the dignitaries, distinguished speakers and participants. He threw light on the motivation to come forward with the idea of the platform that is 'North East Development Conclave'. He also underlined that the Conclave would discuss the ways and means for ensuring the growth of the NE region. At the same time, it would also focus on the model of Development that will be acceptable, suitable, viable and adorable for the North East and for a New India. In his address in the inaugural session, the Chief Guest, Naveen Verma, Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, mentioned the various development initiatives in the northeast being undertaken by the DONER ministry. He praised the co-organisers for organizing the dialogue. The Guest of Honor, Ram Muivah, Secretary, North Eastern Council, shared the work being done by the North Eastern Council during his address in the inaugural session. Atul Chaturvedi, Additional Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, delivered the keynote address on 'North-East Industrial Development Scheme (NEIDS) 2017'. Nagendra Nath Sinha, Managing Director, National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd in his address mentioned the various road connectivity initiatives underway in the North East.
