MSME: Top officials feel the heat, Gadkari sets big target

868If some top sources are to be believed Nitin Gadkari, Union Cabinet Minister for MSME, has told top officials that he wanted the MSME
sector to contribute 50 percent of the GDP as against the present 29.5. He also
told them that he wanted the MSME contribution in India's exports to be raised
up to 75 percent as against the present 45 percent. Presently the MSME sector
generates 06 crs employments whereas Gadkari has set the target of 15 crs
employments in MSME Sector. Gadkari has also been the favorite of senior civil servants
to work with. His professionalism and work approach is liked across the
services but MSME officials find the targets too high to achieve in less than
five years.
