As Indianmandarins had reported first (Sept. 07) Ms. Arti Kanwar (IAS:2001:GJ) has been finally appointed as Bharat lal's successor at Gujarat Bhawan. She may take charge as Resident Commissioner, Gujarat Bhawan on October 23. The post fell vacant after Bharat Lal (IFoS:1988:GJ) was sent to Raisina Hills as Joint Secretary, President Secretariat in the last week of July. As the stop-gap arrangement Lalnunmawia Chaungo (IAS:1987:GJ) held the additional charge of RC. It may be underlined that the Gujarat RC post gained more prominence post May 2014 because the officer posted to this post is probably the only Resident Commissioner among others to have direct access to the PMO.
