New Delhi (04.06.2025): Union Home Ministry has directed Mahima Madan (IAS: 2021: AGMUT) to report to the Government of Jammu & Kashmir without any further delay. She has been asked that in case of any leave requirement owing to her personal hardships, the same may be applied for in writing to the Competent Authority in the Government of J&K. She was transferred from Delhi to J&K on 16.05.2025.
She made two representations dated 19.05.2025 and 25.05.2025 requesting her transfer order may be kept in abeyance and she may be allowed to continue in Delhi for one more year owing to personal hardship. However, her representation for keeping her transfer order in abeyance and for retention in Delhi by one more year has been rejected.
The MHA order says, “The representation of Mahima Madan, IAS (AGMUT: 2021) for keeping her transfer order in abeyance and extension of her tenure in Delhi has been considered and examined in this Ministry. In this connection, it is stated that the transfer order dated 16.05.2025 was issued on administrative grounds with the approval of the Competent Authority. The larger public interest arising out of the functional requirements of the Govt, of Jammu & Kashmir necessitates the joining of Mahima Madan, IAS (AGMUT: 2021) in that segment.”
