said to be more interested in becoming a secretary to the Government of India.
Though Mehta was empanelled for a GOI secretary-rank position in 2017, it
didn't work out for him. One doesn't know why he is keen on moving to Delhi now
with just nine months of service left. At present, Maharashtra has just two
secretary-rank officers — Ajay Bhushan Pandey (1984) and Sanjeevani Kutty
(1983) — in the Union government.
