New Delhi (13.11.2025): As Indianmandarins reported earlier (Report dated 10.11.2025) the NaMo administration has granted Mallika Srinivasan a further one-year extension as the Chairperson of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).
The extension is effective from November 19, 2025, and she will continue to chair the public sector head-hunter until November 18, 2026. This marks the second consecutive extension for Ms. Srinivasan.
Government Commends Performance: 
The decision is rooted in the government's belief that her tenure has been characterised by an effective and transparent selection process. Furthermore, the performance of state-owned Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) has reportedly shown encouraging results during this period.
Background: 
* Ms. Srinivasan initially took over as PESB Chairperson in April 2021, succeeding Rajeev Kumar (Retd. IAS: 1984: JH).
* Her initial term was for a period of three years or until she attained 65 years of age.
* She received her first extension in November last year, which was valid until November 18, 2025.
