New Delhi (13.11.2025): Advocate Hitesh Jain has stepped down as a full-time member of the 23rd Law Commission of India. Reportedly, the President of India accepted his decision to quit effective October 29, 2025.
Hitesh Jain, a prominent litigation lawyer and Managing Partner at Parinam Law Associates, was appointed as one of the four full-time members of the 23rd Law Commission on April 15, 2025. 
The Law Commission is an advisory body to the Government of India that undertakes research and recommends legal reforms. The 23rd Law Commission, chaired by retired Supreme Court Judge Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, was constituted on September 1, 2024, and has a term of three years, ending on August 31, 2027.
The Commission is tasked with crucial terms of reference including the review of obsolete laws, judicial administration, and matters related to gender equality, will now operate with one less full-time member.
