NaMo administration on Wednesday effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle. As many as 17 senior IAS officers were appointed as Secretary in various departments and Ministries which are as follows: Rajiv Gauba (IAS:1982:JH) appointed as OSD in Union Home Ministry. He has been named as next Home Secretary who will take over from Rajeev Mehrishi on 31 August this year. He will serves as Union Home Secretary till 31 August 2019. Subash C Garg (IAS:1983:RJ) appointed as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs vice Shaktikanta Das (IAS:1981:TN). Currently he serves as Executive Director, World Bank. N K Sinha (IAS:1980:BH) laterally appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting vice Ajay Mittal (IAS:1982:HP). Currently Sinha serves as Secretary, Ministry of Culture. Ajay Mittal (IAS:1982:HP) laterally appointed as Secretary, DOPT. He will take over from B P Sharma (IAS:1980:BH) who will be retiring on 30 June 2017. Currently Mittal serves as Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Ms Aruna Sundararajan (IAS:1982:KL) appointed as Secretary, Department of Telecommunications. Currently she serves as Secretary, , Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology Avinash K Srivastava (IAS:1982:UP) appointed as Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs whereas Jagdish Prasad Meena (IAS:1983:AM) appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries. Srivastava and Meena replaced each other. Yudhvir Singh Malik (lAS:1983:HY) appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways Vice Sanjay Mitra (IAS:1982:WB).
