New Delhi (19.10.2024): The New Delhi establishment on Saturday effected a major reshuffle of Union Secretaries. The list of newly appointed secretaries goes as follows:
  • Subrata Gupta (IAS: 1990: WB), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries vice Anita Praveen (IAS: 1989: TN) upon her superannuation on 30.11.2024.
  • S Gopalakrishnan (IAS: 1991: TN) was appointed as Chairman, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. Krishnan replaces Rakesh Ranjan (IAS: 1992: MN) who takes VRS w.e.f. 31.10.2024. Currently, Krishnan is DG, National Productivity Council (NPC) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
  • Puneet Kumar Goel (IAS: 1991: AGMUT) presently Chief Secretary of Goa, was appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. 
  • V Umashankar (IAS: 1993: HY) was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways vice Anurag Jain (IAS: 1989: MP). Currently, V Umashankar is serving in Cadre.  
  • Tanmay Kumar (IAS: 1993: RJ), Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF & CC) vice Leena Leena Nandan (IAS: 1987: UP) upon her superannuation on 31.12.2024. Currently, Tanmay Kumar is Special Secretary, MoEF & CC.
  • Vikram Dev Dutt (IAS: 1993: AGMUT) was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Coal. Currently, he is DG, Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
  • Surendra Kumar Bagde (IAS: 1993: MH) was appointed as DG, National Centre for Good Governance, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. Currently, he is Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
  • The post of Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting held by Neerja Sekhar (IAS: 1993: HY) was upgraded (In-situ) as Special Secretary.
