New Delhi (27.12.2021): The NaMo administration on Monday effected a major bureaucratic rejig at the level of Secretary as follows:

• Ms Vini Mahajan (lAS:1987:PB) was appointed as Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. Presently, she is in the cadre (Punjab).
• Ms. Leena Nandan (lAS:1987:UP) was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change vice Rameshwar Prasad Gupta (lAS:1987:GJ) upon his superannuation on 31.12.2021. Presently, she is Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs.
• Sanjay Kumar Singh (lAS:1987:MP) was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Steel. Presently he is Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances and Department of Pensions & Pensioners Welfare.
• Rohit Kumar Singh (lAS:1989:RJ) was appointed as Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs. He replaces Ms. Leena Nandan. Presently, he is working as  Special Secretary, Ministry of Culture.
• Manoj Joshi (lAS:1989:KL) was appointed as Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. He will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) upon the superannuation of Durga Shanker Mishra this week. Presently, he is working as Special Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
• V Srinivas (lAS:1989:RJ) was appointed as Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and Department of Pensions & Pensioners Welfare. He replaces Sanjay Kumar Singh (lAS:1987:MP). Currently, Srinivas is Special Secretary, DARPG.
• Rajeev Ranjan (lAS:1989:MP) was appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Backward Classes in the rank & pay of Secretary to the Government of India. Currently, he is Special Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
• Pankaj Jain (lAS:1990:AM) was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. Presently, he is Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.
•  Bharat Lal (IFoS:1988:GJ) was appointed as Secretary to the Lokpal vice Brij Kumar Agarwal (Retd lAS:1985:HP) upon completion of his term of the contract (i.e. 31.12.2021) till the date of his superannuation (i.e. 31.01.2022) and thereafter on a contract basis for a period of one year beyond the date of his superannuation on usual terms and conditions applicable to re-employed Central Government officers. Currently, Lal is working as Additional Secretary, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.

Further, as many as eight officers working in the rank of Additional Secretary were elevated (In-situ) as Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. The list goes as follows:

• Sanjay Malhotra (lAS:1990:RJ), CMD, REC Ltd.
• Alkesh Kumar Sharma (lAS:1990:KL) as Special Secretary Cabinet Secretariat
• Raj Kumar Goyal (lAS:1990:JK), Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of External Affairs.
• Shashank Priya (IRS C&IT:1988), Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
• Manoj Ahuja (lAS:1990:OR), Chairman, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under the Ministry of Education.
• Rajesh Kumar Chaudhry (IFS:1987:PB), Special Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance.
• Ms Annie George Mathew (IAAS:1988), Special Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
• Ms. Meera Swarup (IAAS:1988), Special Secretary and Financial Adviser, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
