Gehlot upset with ordinary leaders, wants to curtail their Delhi visit

New Delhi (27.12.2021): Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot is said to be full of apprehensions against Congress leaders who keep loitering around the Delhi AICC office and perform parikrama around 10 Janpath. This may be due to his feelings that these leaders, whose obvious objective is to secure confirmed tickets for themselves and their near and dear ones for the next round of assembly elections, may end up undermining his own role in ticket distribution.

His further fear is that these leaders also carry salacious tales of his performance in the state and thus weaken his standing before the high command. Considering the challenge from the young rebellious leader Sachin Pilot, Gehlot may wish to regulate the information flow to the High Command besides restricting the interaction between the latter and ordinary leaders. If wishes were horses, he would have succeeded. But, for the time being, he has to cope with the countervailing forces that he has himself triggered against his oneupmanship in the state party and government.
