Suresh Prabhu, Railway Minister, is reported to have recommended Mahesh Garg's name for the post of EDPG (MR); Executive Director, Public Grievances, Minister of Railways. The post functions as the link between Minister & the Railway Board but not considered as the personal staff of the Minister.
The appointment of PS & OSD have been an intricate issue in the new government but Garg's recommendation as EDPG (MR) will suitably address the hard-pressed need of the Railway Minister to have an officer who carries the proximity none less than a PS.
