first, nine private sector specialists were, on Friday, selected for
appointment to the post of Joint Secretary in Govt of India on a contract basis. Of 10 JS-level posts selection for the Dept of Revenue may be announced later. DOPT
had in June 2018 invited applications for the JS-level posts in various
ministries/departments through "lateral entry" mode which was then
considered an ambitious step of NaMo administration to bring in fresh talent in
bureaucracy. Till July 30, 2018 approx 6077 applications were received in
response to the government's advertisement.
